We have all done it before.
We wake up with greasy hair that no amount of dry shampoo or powder can cure, are too lazy or don’t have time to get in the shower and wash it, so we pop a cap on our head. Thank you, fashion. For once, you have supported our laziness.

The first baseball hats were made out of straw and were first worn by the New York Knickerbockers on the 24th of April 1849. After a few years of straw, the cap transformed and started being made out of merino wool. During the 1940’s, latex rubber was used to stiffen the material inside the hat. This was when the modern baseball cap was first born!
Up until about 1954, baseball players could pick any hat they wanted to keep the sun out of their eyes. The cap was made out of a crown and a visor. The visor used to be much shorter in the earlier days of baseball but over time the visor extended to block more sun. The baseball cap was, and still is, an important part of a teams identification. The logo, mascot or teams initial is often placed on the cap. The baseball cap’s popularity grew and and continues to do so today.
I absolutely love caps – they are equally practical and stylish. A black baseball cap is a closet staple, in my opinion. I decided to pair it with black some black leggings, my black nike’s and my pretty top that I got at Zara on sale! I am also a massive fan of my Lovisa dangly earrings.
Let me know what you think! xx
