Everyone is talking about it – and if you haven’t heard of it, I will be giving you the summarised version of what’s happening.

If you’re interested in getting the app – you had better get downloading (and fast) as the first 1 million users will never have to pay the subscription fee that is going to be introduced.

Vero claims to be a ‘relationships-first‘ app. They state that “Vero is a social network for anyone who loves anything enough to share it – and wants control over who they share it with. Just like we do in real life.” You can choose if you want to keep a post private, share it with your friends, share it with selected persons or share it with your followers. You can also link your Twitter and Facebook to the app.

The app is taking the concept of Instagram and Facebook – and making it better: by getting rid of many of the issues that upset many users. It allows people to share photos, books, TV series, their location (and more) with who they want; it states that it won’t give up information to advertisers and best of all: it has a chronological feed with no adverts!

Although this sounds too good to be true – with Instagram having over 800 million monthly active users and 2 billion monthly active users on Facebook – who knows if the app will ever gain enough attention to defeat these social platforms…

Though VERO has been trending and has exploded over the last few days – it is quickly running into many problems. VERO has made about 10 posts on their own page – with 9 out of 10 being apologies about all of the problems. These issues have included people not being able to sign up, not receiving notifications and not being able to use the app at all.

Despite this, if you are a wanna-be influencer, someone who loves giving new apps a try or are tired of Facebook and Instagrams annoying algorithms and adverts: now is the time to join the app. Why not? It’s currently free and who knows? Maybe it’ll be the next big thing?
