I first heard about an eyelash perming on Instagram and thought it was one of those things that you always see but never hear of people doing.

The last time I went to have my eyebrows threaded, my beautician told me it was actually very popular – and so I decided I would give it a shot.

There are so many benefits to having your eyelashes permed.
1. No more damaging your eyelashes with an eyelash curler.
2. No need to apply mascara.
3. Eyelashes that look fabulous all the time!

Plus, because none of the products applied touch your skin – the chances of having a reaction are extremely slim.

The whole process was totally painless and quite relaxing. First, a silicon pad is placed on top of your eyelid followed by some glue that is used to stick your eyelashes down. Next, a pink gel is applied to your lashes which is what gives the lashes the perm. A blue gel is then placed onto your lashes to neutralise them and then finally the tint is applied.

Each of these ‘layers’ have to be left on the lashes for 15 minutes each – which is why the process takes about 45 minutes. Finally, another gel is used to loosen up the glue that was used to stick the lashes down.

Voila! You have amazing lashes. No need to worry about touch ups or irritation!

The perm lasts anywhere between 6 weeks to 3 months. This longevity will depend entirely on how you treat your lashes.
